PROVIDENCE HIGH SCHOOL GSA
ABOUT
"When all Americans are treated as equal, no matter who they are or whom they love, we are all more free."--Barack Obama
Welcome to the GSA club!
We are so happy that you have, are planning, or are interested in joining the club! This club in its best definition is a club that provides LGBTQ+ education to our members on differing topic presented by our officers (click the 'Officers' page to view them). This club also acts as a haven for those seeking acceptance for who they are. We provide an enriching and caring environment to all of our members.
Our Mission:
What we as a club want to achieve is just to make our school and the world a safe environment for all students. We do not expect everyone to accept homosexuality as right, we only want peace and equality.
FAQ
What does "GSA" stand for?
GSA stands for the "Gender-Sexuality Alliance!"
This is the gay club right? So do I have to be LGBTQ+ in order to join?
Absolutely not! We encourage everyone to join! Remember that this is the Gender-Sexuality Alliance club, where our main goal is to make people aware and more accepting of LGBTQ+ peoples!
Where and when are the meetings held?
Meetings are every Monday after school in Mrs. Boehm's room, room 101. These meetings usually last from 2:15-3:30, however we may end earlier depending upon the activity for the day.
What exactly do you do in these meetings?
Every week we will either have a presentation conducted by our officers on a specific topic (i.e. Bisexual vs Pansexualism). We also have in-depth discussions on current events within the LGBTQ+ community, fun activities, and guest speakers (such as Time out Youth).
I'm hooked. How do I join?
All you have to do in order to join is to come to one of our meetings on Mondays and pay your $10 dues, however if you want a general feel for what we do, you can come to meetings without paying for dues! You must pay dues to come to socials, however.
